In a not so distant future, overpopulation and famine have led to the implementation of a strict One-Child Policy. In this society, seven identical sisters, played by Noomi Rapace, must hide their existence and take turns assuming the identity of one person, Karen Settman, in order to evade the watchful eyes of the Child Allocation Bureau. This bureau, led by the fierce Nicolette Cayman, enforces the family-planning agenda set by the government. The sisters have been taught by their grandfather, played by Willem Dafoe, who named them after the days of the week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They are only allowed to go outside once a week as their common identity, but they cherish the freedom of being themselves in the confines of their apartment.
However, their secret life is shattered when Monday fails to come home one day. The sisters must now work together to unravel the mystery of what happened to Monday and confront the devastating consequences that threaten to tear them apart. With the clock ticking, they must navigate the dangerous world outside and fight to protect their existence.
This thrilling and suspenseful sci-fi film, starring an outstanding performance by Noomi Rapace in seven different roles, explores themes of identity, family, and the lengths people will go to survive in a dystopian future.
