In the movie Varg Veum - Tornerose (2008), the story begins in Copenhagen, where Varg Veum, a private detective, encounters Lisa, a 16-year-old runaway prostitute who is the daughter of a wealthy businessman. Concerned for her safety, Veum brings her back to his client and his family in Norway. However, their reunion is interrupted by concerned neighbors who ask Veum to find their son Peter, who happens to be Lisa's close friend.
Initially reluctant to help, Veum's perspective changes when Lisa's 21-year-old drug-addict friend is found dead in a hotel room in Bergen. Worried for Lisa's well-being, Veum becomes determined to protect her from a dangerous drug dealer. Unfortunately, the police suspect Lisa of being involved in the murder and view Veum's investigation as nothing more than interference.
As the story unfolds, Veum must navigate a web of dangerous criminals, corrupt police, and a growing list of suspects to uncover the truth and clear Lisa's name. With time running out and the evidence against her mounting, Veum races against the clock to find the real killer and expose the truth.
