In Varg Veum - De døde har det godt (2012), Varg Veum finds himself in a race against time to uncover the truth behind a young girl's death. When Varg attempts to save a frightened asylum seeker lost in the woods at night, he tragically fails to prevent her demise. Determined to discover the reasons behind her desperate escape, Varg investigates whether her death was accidental or if it serves as a warning to other girls within her circle.
As he dives deeper into the case, Varg teams up with Karin to unravel a shocking discovery. They learn that the deceased girl was heavily involved in an operation exploiting young women who are forcibly brought into the country and manipulated within asylum reception centers. The investigation takes a perilous turn when powerful individuals in positions of authority try to obstruct Varg's progress.
Faced with pressure from influential figures in high government positions, Varg must uncover the identity of those responsible for the exploitation ring. With the clock ticking, he must gather the evidence necessary to expose the truth and prevent more innocent lives from being lost.
Varg Veum - De døde har det godt is a gripping thriller that exposes the dark underbelly of human trafficking and corruption. Will Varg succeed in his mission to bring justice to the victims and hold those accountable for their crimes? Only time will tell.
