Erik Winter is investigating the murders of immigrants in the suburb of Göteborg. Soon another immigrant is murdered. Winter is still clueless about the motive and intensify the search of the boy on a bike who is a possible witness.

Erik Winter is called out to a crime scene in Göteborg's suburb where three immigrant men are found killed with their faces were shot of. Winter is struggling to find a motive, but people in the neighborhood are too afraid to talk.

In 1939 the 13-year-old Carl arrives at the lighthouse Lågskär in the Åland Islands, for a position as lighthouse disciple. He is trained by the demanding lighthouse keeper.
