In the movie Sleepers (1996), four boys from Hell's Kitchen, New York, find themselves in a life-altering situation after a prank goes wrong and an old man gets injured. As a consequence, they are sentenced to at least one year in the Wilkinson Center, a juvenile detention facility in upstate New York.
During their time at the center, the boys endure physical beatings, humiliation, and sexual abuse at the hands of the guards who were supposed to protect them. These events profoundly affect them, haunting their adult lives.
Thirteen years later, fate brings the childhood friends back together. They chance upon an opportunity for revenge against the Wilkinson Center and its corrupt guards. Determined to seek justice, the group embarks on a dangerous mission to expose the truth and make those responsible pay.
