This new version of the saga of CIA analyst Jack Ryan begins with his time at the London School of Economics. After the 9/11 attacks, Jack enlists in the Marines but suffers severe injuries when his deployment to Afghanistan is shot down. During his rehabilitation, he catches the attention of Harper, a CIA operative, who recruits Jack to finish his studies, get a job on Wall Street, and use his financial expertise to uncover potential terrorist plots.

Fast forward ten years, Jack discovers suspicious activities in the accounts of a Russian businessman named Cherevin. Believing there is something amiss, Jack decides to travel to Russia to investigate further. He is instructed to keep his real identity a secret, including from his girlfriend Cathy, causing her to doubt him when she catches him in lies.

In Russia, Cherevin assigns a man to assist Jack, but the man tries to kill him. Jack defends himself and realizes that Cherevin is hiding something. When Jack plans to confront Cherevin, he hesitates to involve Cathy, but she insists on going along.

As Jack and Cathy meet Cherevin, a thrilling series of events unfolds, leading to a climactic showdown. It is a race against time as Jack and Cathy must uncover Cherevin's true intentions and prevent a major terrorist attack. Will they be able to stop the threat and save the day?
