In the late 1970s, a mentally handicapped teenager named Marco is abandoned by his drug-addicted mother in the film Any Day Now. When a gay couple, Rudy and Paul, discover the desperate situation Marco is in, they decide to take him in and provide him with the love and care he has never experienced before. Despite facing societal judgments and prejudices, Rudy and Paul become a family to Marco.

Their unconventional living arrangement is eventually discovered by the authorities, triggering a legal battle for the couple to adopt Marco officially. However, they encounter a biased legal system that questions their ability to provide a stable home due to their sexual orientation.

As the legal battle intensifies, Rudy, Paul, and their determined lawyer, played by Alan Cumming, fight tirelessly to prove that their love and commitment make them more than capable of providing a nurturing environment for Marco. Along the way, they confront discrimination, homophobia, and societal prejudices that threaten to tear their family apart.

Any Day Now is a moving and heartfelt drama that explores themes of love, acceptance, and the fight against social injustice. Inspired by a true story, this emotionally gripping film showcases the resilience and strength of a family created out of love, regardless of society's biases and discrimination.
