Details

Bandits (2001) is an exciting crime-comedy that follows the adventures of two convicts, Joe (Bruce Willis) and Terry (Billy Bob Thornton), who escape from prison and embark on a thrilling bank robbing spree. With Joe's charismatic charm and Terry's hypochondriac tendencies, the duo starts a unique approach to their crimes - kidnapping bank managers, spending the night with their families, and then using them to rob the banks the next morning.

Assisted by a dim-witted stuntman named Harvey, who serves as their getaway driver and lookout, the trio successfully pulls off multiple heists, gaining notoriety as The Sleepover Bandits. Their audacious crimes even catch the attention of a television show about American criminals, further fueling their fame.

However, their well-executed plan hits a snag when the bank managers realize that Joe and Terry are non-violent and pose no threat to them or their employees. This realization changes the dynamics of the game for the Bandits, raising the stakes and making their future heists more challenging.

Adding to the complexity of their situation, a bored and unhappy housewife named Kate (Cate Blanchett) unintentionally falls into the hands of the criminals. As she spends more time with Joe and Terry, a complicated love triangle forms, with Kate developing romantic feelings for both of them.

Bandits is a thrilling and humorous film that blends crime and comedy, keeping audiences entertained with its clever plot twists, charismatic performances, and unexpected love interests.
