Possession (2022) is a captivating supernatural horror film that explores the consequences of disturbing sacred grounds. Set in a remote mining town, a devout priest is entrusted with the responsibility of selecting a suitable location for a new church on behalf of the local mining company. Little did he know, the chosen spot is situated upon an ancient Sami burial ground.
As the priest and his team begin the arduous task of relocating the remains, they unknowingly unleash a terrifying curse upon themselves and the entire settlement. The bones of the deceased resurrect, transforming into malevolent spirits that torment and haunt anyone who crosses their path.
Possession masterfully delves into the moral dilemma faced by the priest, torn between his religious principles and the horrors that have befallen the townspeople. This intense struggle serves as the film's driving force, intertwining themes of faith, sacrifice, and the consequences of meddling with the supernatural.
